I've learned that with jack you can teach him the basics and he'll understand them... unless it is the day he chooses to use selective hearing. So, about two week before he was 8 months old he would just roll around and that is how, i think, he had decided was the best way for him to get around. Which, i guess, ok fine with me. However, i really wanted him to start to act like he wanted to crawl. Well, like i said he just was fine and content with rolling everywhere... until one day he started to army crawl.
He was getting quite frusturated because his little chubby arms weren't really getting the same idea to move that his legs were. So, after much tries he finally realized that he would roll to one side... move his arm and then kick his legs and then do the same on the other side. Needless to say he loved to move all over and then when he is done.. he'll do a superman, meaning that he puts his arms behind him and lays on his belly and kicks his feet so hard.. i think in hopes he may fly. Whatever makes him have fun. It's actually really cute and funny.
So, now he is starting to tuck his legs and getting the whole idea. He is super cute.. however everyday or morning i have to vacuum and make sure nothing can hurt the kid.
Hit milestones are so fun. I love it.. however with jack.. it is on his own terms.
